JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior QA, you are a contributor to the team, specifically providing guidance and mentoring to its junior members. You are also expected to be able to execute all the necessary QA tasks required through the SLC: from requirements analysis to test plans and bug reports. With your experience, you are able to find problems even before a single line of code is written, and for those bugs manifest later, you will use your manual and automated toolkit to find them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and executing the different QA activities for a given project while taking into account the value of the individual activities in the context of the project.
• Suggests innovative solutions to technical problems.
• Create relevant documentation in accordance with company standards.
• Create system integration, and regression test cases and applies these against developed software to ensure quality.
• Work with stake holders (customer, PM, BA) and members of the engineering department (testers, developers, operations team) as needed, to ensure quality and the successful rollout of new applications or features.
• Follow existing standards in daily work. Able to suggest modification/addition/deletion to existing standards and practices.
• Learn new technologies as needed to successfully perform these duties.
• Help define and evolve quality assurance standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.
• Contribute to project reports or customer driven evaluations.
• Lead and mentor junior members of the team.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present and explain technical information in an unambiguous way.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to develop work-around solutions.
• Ability to work independently and with little direction while remaining a team player.
• Ability to quickly, effectively, and persuasively communicate inputs and ideas within collaborative sessions, informal presentations, formal presentations, and in written form to a range of audiences with wide ranges of technical knowledge and ability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree. Preferably in Mathematics, Natural Sciences or Engineering.
• 5+ years experience as a quality assurance engineer.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of QA and software testing processes and methodologies.
• Working knowledge of software usability, N-tier architectures, Web services, SQL databases and LDAP directories with the ability to create robust test cases that ensure that the software being tested meets the business requirements.
• Experience in any of the following areas a plus: .NET/C#/ASP.NET, BizTalk Server 2006, SQL Server 2005, XML.
• Experience in test automation a definite plus.
• Prior testing experience in an Agile development environment.
