Oliver "Buck" Revell, Chairman of the Board / Director
Appointed Director and Chairman of the Board of Visiphor in January
2000, Mr. Revell served for over 30 years in the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI), advancing to the role of Associate Deputy Director, the number
two position in the Bureau. Throughout his FBI career, he served on numerous
Presidential and Vice-Presidential task forces, and was appointed as Vice-Chairman
for the Interagency Group for Counter-Intelligence and the Terrorist Crisis
Management Committee of the National Security Council. Mr. Revell is a
life member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
and was the founding chairman of its committee on terrorism. Mr. Revell
is President of the Law Enforcement Television Network (LETN) and resides
in Dallas, Texas, where he also serves as Chairman of the Greater Dallas
Crime Commission. Mr. Revell holds a Bachelor of Science degree from East
Tennessee State University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration
from Temple University, and a Diploma in National Security from Harvard.
Roy Trivett, CEO / Director
Mr. Trivett has been a Director of Visiphor since March 2002, and in
July of 2003 he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr.
Trivett has an extensive entrepreneurial background and has achieved notable
success in hardware and software industries. He brings a wealth of experience
in building and operating successful software companies, including co-founding
and expanding Architel Systems Corporation into an international telecommunications
software company that was acquired by Nortel Networks for in excess of
$600 million. Mr. Trivett is a Professional Engineer and holds a Masters
degree in systems engineering from Carleton University.
Al Kassam, Senior Vice President / Director
With the acquisition of Briyante Software Corporation in November 2003, Mr. Kassam joined Visiphor as Vice President of Technology & Development, Chief Technology Officer, and Director. Previously, as President & CEO of Briyante Software Corporation, Mr. Kassam oversaw the firm’s expansion from an R & D organization to a successful developer and marketer of data-sharing products in the North American Justice market. Prior to this, he was a co-founder and Managing Partner of Benchmark Technologies Inc., an IT consulting firm engaged in the development of custom software for business-to-business data exchange. Mr. Kassam has 24 years of information technology experience, including work as a Senior Consultant with Westech Information Systems, and several years with Computer Associates International. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. A Microsoft Certified Professional, Mr. Kassam has spoken worldwide on the topics of disparate database integration and systems development.
Clyde Farnsworth, Head of Audit Committee / Director
Mr. Farnsworth served as the Director of Reserve Bank of Operations
and Payment Systems for the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve
System prior to retirement in June 1999. As the Director, Mr. Farnsworth
had responsibility for operations of the twelve Federal Reserve banks
on behalf of the Federal Reserve Board. During his 18-year term, he represented
the Board of Governors on the Group of Ten Committees of the Bank for
International Settlements; the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems;
the Group of Computer Experts; and the Security Experts. Mr. Farnsworth’s
duties also included automation and communication planning, financial
planning, financial control, and budgeting for the Reserve Banks. Prior
to joining the Federal Reserve Board, he served as an officer and economist
at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, VA. Prior to this, he held teaching
positions at the University of Richmond, VA, and at Virginia Commonwealth
University. He was also a Professor of Economics at Virginia Tech. Mr.
Farnsworth holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in mathematics, a Masters
of Science degree in Finance, and a Doctorate in Economics.
Keith Kretschmer, Head of Compensation Committee / Director
Mr. Kretschmer has over a thirty-year career in financial services and investments. Prior to retirement, he served as Managing Director of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. from 1993 to 1994 and Oppenheimer Capital from 1995 to 2001, founding their Australia and New Zealand businesses. Prior to Oppenheimer, Mr. Kretschmer was a General Partner of Bear Stearns & Co. (Los Angeles) and later Senior Managing Director of Bear Stearns & Co. (Boston). Prior to Bear Stearns, he was an investment executive with Shearson Hammill & Co. from 1968 to 1975 and executive vice president of Automated Management Systems Inc. from 1962 to 1968. Mr. Kretschmer has served on the White House Advance Staff and as an officer and director with many charities. He served in the US Military in Korea as a troop commander and is an Airborne Ranger. Mr. Kretschmer is a graduate of Wentworth Military Academy, the University of Nebraska, and has attended the UCLA Graduate School of Management.
Michael C. Volker, Director
Mr. Volker was appointed to the Board of Directors of Visiphor in November
2003, and also currently serves as the Director of the Industry Liaison
Office of Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. In 1973, he founded
Volker-Craig, a computer terminals company that was acquired in 1981.
In 1988, he accepted the role of Executive Director of the BC Advanced
Systems Institute, an organization dedicated to technology development
and technology transfer. From 1991 to 1996, Mr. Volker was Chairman & CEO
of RDM Corporation (formerly Mindflight Corporation). From 1996 to 2001
he was Chairman of the Vancouver Enterprise Forum and continues as an
active Director, managing the Vancouver Technology Angel Network. Mr.
Volker has taught courses in engineering, economics, design and management
(organizational behavior) at the University of Waterloo, University of
Toronto, Simon Fraser University, and Kansas University. Mr. Volker obtained
his Bachelor of Science (1972) and Masters of Science (1973) degrees from
the University of Waterloo. Mr. Volker also served a maximum term as a
Governor of the University of Waterloo (1987 - 1993).
Wanda Dorosz, Director
Ms. Dorosz was appointed to the Board of Directors of Visiphor in August 2006 and is currently the Chairman and CEO of Quorum Group of Companies. Ms. Dorosz is a founder and the Chairman and CEO of Quorum Group of Companies (“Quorum”) which operate out of Toronto, New York and Bermuda. Quorum is a North American-based funds manager with extensive experience in both expansion-capital investing and real estate funds management, and has managed over $350 million since 1987.
From 1976 until 1987 Ms. Dorosz practiced law, specializing in tax and corporate finance issues primarily related to Canadian and U.S. technology companies. She is currently a director of numerous private, public and not-for-profit organizations including CCR Technologies Ltd., Wellpoint Systems Inc., LxSix Photonics Inc., Positron Technologies Inc., NGRAIN Technology and Products, York University Schulich Business School Advisory Board, and Top 40 Under 40 Board of Directors. Some of her prior directorships include Investors Group, the Residential Equities Board of Trustees, the University of Toronto Governing Council, Toronto Stock Exchange Advisory Council, Abitibi-Price Office Products, Positron Fibre Systems, PC DOCS Group International, Inc., Promis Systems Corporation, Enghouse Systems Limited, National Advisory Board on Science and Technology (NABST), an appointment of the Prime Minister, Director and Executive Committee Member of the Harbourfront Corporation, Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) Canadian Advisory Board, and the Ontario Centre for Microelectronics. She has been a national judge of the Canadian Entrepreneur Program for a number of years.
Ms. Dorosz holds a Bachelor of Education with distinction from the University of Regina and an LLB first Quartile from the University of British Columbia.
Michael Goffin, Director
Michael Goffin was appointed to the Board of Directors of Visiphor in March 2008. Mr. Goffin joined Quorum Group of Companies, Quorum Funding Corporation (“Quorum”), in 1997 where he has since gained over ten years of investment, accounting and corporate financial experience. Prior to 1997, he held various progressive financial positions in the service industry and manufacturing sector. Today, Mr. Goffin sits on Quorum’s Technology Advisory Committee, and is a board member of several publicly listed companies. His primary focus is on the management of portfolio investments, financial structuring, strategic modelling and due diligence. He also contributes to the Quorum mergers and acquisitions and divestiture team, including the sale of Newstar E-commerce to BCE Emergis. Mr. Goffin graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Environmental Management in 1994 and holds a Certified General Accountant designation.
